Farm Machinery from a By-gone Era

In July of 2008 I made a trip to Richfield to visit a childhood friend in a Care Center following which I drove to my home town of Joseph about 10 miles S.W. of Richfield. On my way I was surprised to see in a field a number of old farm machinery, one of the most interesting was the old Threshing Machine which had to be operated by a long belt from a tractor. The bundles of grain, i. e. barley or wheat had to be thrown into the jaws of the machine with pitchforks - - hard grueling work in the heat of Summer.

Cool, picture. It almost looks like an animal, with head, body, etc.

They have lots of these things on hills by the side of the road in North Dakota. Pretty cool. Kimball
